Since its inception, Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers has been a leader in cancer care. RMCC began in the early 1990s as a small group practice of six physicians with a new approach to treating cancer — administering chemotherapy on an outpatient basis. RMCC has since developed into the premier oncology network in Colorado and administering chemotherapy on an outpatient basis is now the norm.

RMCC is Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care with 70 physicians who treat patients in 20 locations throughout the state. Built and organized on a patient-centric model, RMCC provides comprehensive cancer care in conveniently located outpatient facilities, making treatment as accessible as possible for patients.

The pioneering group of physicians who formed RMCC also founded a national company called American Oncology Resources (AOR), which focused on growing and managing cancer centers. In June of 1999, AOR merged with a company called PRN and formed US Oncology (USON). USON is affiliated with over 900 cancer physicians in the United States, giving RMCC patients access to the best physicians and latest treatments through physician networking and a nation-wide clinical research program.
