The Leading Cancer Researcher in Colorado

Because Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers is committed to providing the best available care to all of its patients, research is and will continue to be the cornerstone of the organization.

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers has rapidly become one of the leading cancer research centers in the country. We began formally participating in research studies in 1997. Now, we are participating in approximately 140 clinical research trials in all major cancer types and have nearly 30 dedicated research staff.

Over the past several years, we have participated in trials that resulted in the approval of 23 of the last 29 drugs to be approved by the FDA for use, and more than 3,000 of our patients have accessed these trials.

In 2006, our research program was recognized by the American Society of Clinical Oncology with their 2006 Clinical Trial Participation Award for our efforts to improve the quality of cancer care through participation in clinical trials.

The award is presented to oncology practices that increase awareness and participation in clinical trials in their community. The impressive advances in cancer treatment over the last 30 years can be traced directly to the clinical trials that evaluated new cancer therapies. Only 12 community oncology practices in the United States received this honor.
