Chemotherapy
As a Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers patient your cancer care will be overseen by a medical oncologist/hematologist. As your primary cancer care physician he/she will manage your treatment plans and medical therapies—including the administering of chemotherapy; monitor and evaluate your progress; and collaborate with other medical caregivers on additional treatment options like radiation therapy. He/she will lead a team of highly trained clinical providers including physician assistants, nurse practitioners and oncology-trained nurses, fighting cancer on your behalf.
Diagnostic Imaging
Diagnostic imaging tools like Computed Tomography (CT) and Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) help our physicians detect cancers earlier and more precisely. They also help in treatment planning by documenting disease progression and treatment effectiveness. All our imaging programs are accredited by the American College of Radiology and meet or exceed quality assurance and safety guidelines.
Genetic Testing
Are you concerned about your risk for cancer? Our board certified genetic counselors can help you learn about hereditary and other risks factors for cancer, as well as explain recent advances in cancer screening, cancer risk reduction strategies and genetic testing. Together with our medical oncologists they provide medical management recommendations and support for patients who have been diagnosed with or are at high risk for developing cancers such as breast, colorectal, prostate, gastrointestinal, uterine , ovarian and other cancers
Laboratory
Laboratory testing is a key component of detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancers and blood disorders. Most patients are required to have blood drawn and laboratory work done immediately before a visit with their doctor or before chemotherapy. Our on-site laboratories provide rapid turnaround for many tests including Complete Blood Count CBC), clotting tests, tumor markers and chemistry tests. Having laboratory services on site as part of our full spectrum of comprehensive cancer care helps our doctors evaluate and prescribe treatment for our patients as quickly as possible.
Radiation Therapy
If your cancer treatment plan includes radiation therapy you will be referred to one of our expert radiation oncologists for care. You will have access to the most advanced radiation therapy technology (like the Varian Novalis Tx) and the most advanced radiation treatment techniques, including externally-delivered image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy.
Supportive Care
Our dedicated oncology social workers recognize the stress and challenges that a cancer diagnosis can bring into your life and we’re here to help. We work in tandem with your doctor to ensure that you are supported throughout your journey with access to counseling, support groups, educational events and referrals to appropriate community resources.
