Lutathera

Lutathera® (lutetium Lu 177 dotatate) is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with a type of cancer known as gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) that are positive for the hormone receptor somatostatin, including GEP-NETs in the foregut, midgut, and hindgut.

At Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, we have treated patients from across the country with Lutathera. As Colorado’s leader in cancer care, our staff is committed to your safety and comfort in this process. We get to know each other very well over your course of treatment and we are honored to help you during this time.

Your Care Team

Your care team is led by two leaders in the diagnosis and treatment of NETs. Dr. Allen Cohn and Dr. Eric Liu lead the way with their expertise in this field. Both of our doctors are known nationally as NET experts. Prior to treatments, you will consult with one of these doctors to assure treatment with Lutathera is right for you. They will be with you every step of the way.

Your Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologists are imaging and treatment experts who have been using Lutathera, Ga-68 Dotatate and Cu-64 Dotatate before the products were available commercially, utilizing compassionate use and early access programs. Our technologists have given over 330 Lutathera treatments since June 2018 and have completed a combination of over 1,100 scans using Cu-64 dotatate and Ga-68 dotatate scans during the same time period.

Your nurses are well-trained and provide great care during your consults as well as during your treatments. The nursing staff are truly Lutathera nursing experts. You will get to know the nursing staff very well during your time with us.

Your treatments are supervised by Board Certified Nuclear Medicine Radiologists who assure it is safe for you to receive the treatment and assure the treatment is carried out appropriately based on various criteria. They will review your history and determine the safest path for administration prior to each treatment.
