Provider Biography
Dr. Joyce Moore is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of breast disease and breast cancer. As the Director of the Breast Program at Sky Ridge Medical Center, she has dedicated her career to advancing breast health in the Greater Metro Denver community.
Dr. Moore specializes in advanced surgical techniques designed to prioritize both oncological safety and aesthetic outcomes. Her expertise includes:
- Oncoplastic Lumpectomies: Combining cancer surgery with plastic surgery techniques.
- Mastectomies: Traditional, skin-sparing, and nipple-sparing approaches (performed in conjunction with plastic surgery for reconstruction).
- Axillary Procedures: Sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary dissections.
- Breast Biopsies
Dr. Moore believes that the best outcomes are achieved through teamwork. Under her leadership, the Sky Ridge breast program received NAPBC accreditation. She facilitates a weekly Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Conference, where a team of breast radiologists, medical and radiation oncologists, and nurse navigators collaborate on a personalized treatment plan for every new patient.
A Colorado native, Dr. Moore, returned home after receiving her undergraduate degree from Stanford University. She completed her medical degree and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In addition to her clinical practice, she is a passionate surgical instructor, mentoring the next generation of surgeons.

Dr. Moore’s patient care philosophy is one of compassion, flexibility and respect. She listens to her patients and understands that the best approach is a collaborative one. She realizes every patient is different and working with these differences to deliver great care is her passion.
